Mixing
up your workout routine can help you bust through diet plateaus and increase weight-loss. But instead of dragging yourself
to the gym for another trip on the treadmill, why not try a kickboxing class? By throwing a few jabs, cross-punches and roundhouses,
you could end up torching calories, increasing coordination and toning your entire body all within one class.
Kickboxing is more often recognized as a competitive
full contact sport. Most people are attracted to fitness kickboxing for its fitness benefits, sometimes led
by a desire to learn self-defense and experience authentic kickboxing training without sparring, and sometimes because
they want to simply lose weight, get fit and have fun in the process! The cardiovascular, toning, conditioning and motor skill
enhancements gained make fitness kickboxing a tremendous alternative to sport or competitive kickboxing.
Each class consists of a challenging workout with the safety of the participants as the primary goal. Boxing gloves
and wraps are recommended and encouraged. No one should strike heavy bags without proper hand protection. We
utilize both freestanding heavy bags and hand-held focus pads during the workout.
The session then moves into structured strike, kick and punch combinations
and sometimes incorporates 2 minute rounds on the bags to simulate a competitive match to build endurance and stamina.
Expect
a full-body workout tailored to all fitness levels and ages! Be prepared to sweat!
All classes will conclude
with strength, abdominal and back exercises followed by stretching.
